This guide walks you through installing a wallet on your mobile device.
Installing a Mobile Device wallet application
iOS
Open the App Store and hit the search button in the bottom right. Input MetaMask into the search bar.
Either click 'Get' or tap on the name of the app to see more details. Complete the usual App Store download confirmation process.
Once installed, open the app and follow the prompts to create your wallet.
Android
Open the Play Store and search for "MetaMask". The official MetaMask app looks like the screenshot below. Be VERY CAREFUL that you don't install a fake MetaMask app! Look for the one with 10M+ downloads.
Tap 'Install' and wait for the process to finish.
Once installed, open the app and follow the prompts to create your wallet.
Creating a new wallet
Open MetaMask and click "Get Started."
Set a strong password.
Write down the 12-word seed phrase.
Confirm the seed phrase.
Your wallet has been created.
Add a Polygon Mainnet Network
Here is a simple guide to connecting to the Polygon Mumbai Testnet with Chainlist:
Visit the ChainList website and connect your MetaMask Wallet.
Search for "Polygon" in the 'Search Networks' tab.
Find the Polygon network you want to connect to and click 'Add to MetaMask'. It will be automatically added to your wallet.
Adding Mumbai Testnet
Note: You need to add 'Mumbai Testnet' if you want free Testnet access.
Here is a simple guide to connecting to the Polygon Amoy Testnet with Chainlist:
Visit the ChainList website and connect your MetaMask Wallet.
Select the 'Include Testnets' checkbox.
Search for "Polygon Amoy" in the 'Search Networks' tab.
Find the Polygon Mumbai network you want to connect to and click 'Add to MetaMask'. It will be automatically added to your wallet.
Adding USDC Token on Polygon Network
Step 1:
Go to Coinmarketcap and search for USDC.e.
Select Polygon network from the contract address dropdown.
Copy the Polygon USDC contract address.
Step 2:
Open Metamask and click on the "Import Tokens" button.
In the Token Contract Address field, paste the copied Polygon USDC.e contract address.
The remaining details will be auto-filled if the address is correct.
Click "Add Custom Token" and then "Import Token".
This will add the USDC.e token on the Polygon network to your Metamask wallet.
Connecting to DApps
To use MetaMask to interact with a DApp, look for a “Connect to Wallet” button or similar element on the platform you’re attempting to use. After you click this, you should see a prompt asking if you want to allow the DApp to connect to your wallet.
